How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
Our writing is unique because it is a mother and son who are the authors. The generation gap makes our writing very interesting and compelling reading.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
My advice would be to write something every day, no matter how little.
Dr Tina White was born in Bristol, England. Originally educated as a Scientist, she gained her science degree with honours, and her Doctor of Philosophy, from the University of Plymouth, England, in 1993 and 1997 respectively. She has published a Scientific Thesis and a number of journal papers; which are held at the “The British Library”. She also gained a teaching qualification in 2001 and taught Science to adults for many years.
She retired from her scientific career in 2010 and after traveling widely and began writing fiction full time. She now lives in a Grade II Listed building on the edge of Dartmoor, in Devon, England.
Dr Tina White co-wrote her first epic novel “Utopia: A Dark Thriller,” with her youngest son, Adam Steel. It was started in January 2011 and completed and published in January 2013. The book was written when she was living with her husband in an isolated Lodge in Scotland.
Subsequently the book “Utopia: A Dark Thriller” was made into a Trilogy and published in May 2013.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I co-wrote this book with my youngest son, Adam. I was inspired to write after having a lifetime career as a research scientist and I had a brilliant idea for an epic story. I wanted to explore the idea of what it would be like to invent another world that would seem to be Utopian, but in fact it was anything but.
