What inspired you to write your book?
I wrote the book at a tribute to Tova and as a way to express my grief.
About your Book:
The story of Tova and her life with me and my wife from eight weeks old to nine and a half years. Tova was a German Shorthaired Pointer which is a breed that hunts upland game. We only hunted pheasants together. We had many wonderful years with her and my wife said I needed to write the book from the dogs perspective. When I thought she was thinking of something I italicized words as if she was speaking them. Her thoughts run throughout the whole book. I also wrote it to teach pet owners what was the cause of her demise.
Book Genre: Non-fiction true life story
What formats are your books in: Both Print and eBooks
How do you see writing a book in the Pet Genre as different from writing other genres of books?
For me writing about Tova was heart warming. I normally write fictional thrillers. You can view my other books on www.joesmiga.com.
Advice to someone that is thinking about or currently working on a pet book
Write the books from the animal’s perspective as well as your own.
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I self-published five books with Xlibris.
Joe began writing in October of 2005. He retired from his working career at the end of 2007. His first novel, “Behind the Lies,” was published in May 2009.
