What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I believe all fantasy books grow out from the same inspiration. The need to bring magic into your own and into your readers lives. I've been reading since I was a child and I always wished to bring the same kind of awe to someone elses every day life.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I wanted to create a bigger cast to show the whole magical world I created, so I picked out several species I wanted to showcase more: An Elven girl, a Shapeshifter, an Orc and a Wizard. They all bring their own perspective to the story.
“Do you need help, Shifter?” he offered and Lisanna blushed. She was unable to answer. Still, he took the last few books from the floor and placed them back to the shelf they had fallen from. “It’s rude to eavesdrop, you know.”
Lisanna gaped. He knew? She tried to find words to explain herself, but the vampire was already walking away. Great, now the blue fairy disguise was a creeper. Or it wasn’t a disguise at all? He had called her a Shifter hadn’t he? How had he known? She looked at her hands. Yup, still blue. Do Vampires have some sort of detecting skills? Could he recognize her by her scent? A jolt went through her heart, he had recognized her and helped her gather up the books!
Lisanna looked back to where the argument had taken place, the girl was still standing there, looking at her accusingly.
“So, you’re a Pirandello?” Lisanna asked, approaching her.
“It’s a Vampire, run!” Finley replied, sarcastic.
“It can’t be that bad, can it?”
“You are a Fairy, what can you know about how Vampires are being treated?”
Lisanna spared her a glance, and then concentrated on the book titles. “I am not a Fairy,” she said absently.
Dragons and Treasures.
How to Defeat a Dragon.
Finley laughed. “Oh yeah, what are you then, a witch who fell into blue paint?”
“A Shifter, actually, your brother could tell.”
So it wasn’t a born ability Archer had. Perhaps he did indeed recognize her scent. They were seated rather close in Politics after all.
Lisanna stared at the bookshelf, stuck in thought.
A Natural History of Dragons
The Last Dragon slayer
What kind of book would she even need? There were so many of them, and God knew she was not going to read more than one.
“You’re a Shifter? You have got to be kidding me.”
