This is the first story featuring the Zee Brother’s in which they meet the love of their lives, JJ and her magical puppy, Xanadu. They uncover the secrets of an ancient indian curse involving a zombie omelet, wait, amulet. They fail to rescue their first client of the day and end up keeping him as a pet instead.
All of this takes place in the small gated community of Winter Oaks, AZ, built atop the tribal burial ground of the Pakatini Tribe and right next to the county dump. Awakened when the obnoxious president of the home owners association disturbs an ancient artifact, the zombies return from their graves to reclaim their amulet.
Arriving in their extermination truck loaded with weapons and their strangely premonitory Magic 8-ball shifter, the brothers quickly get to work. Bodies and brains explode as they seek the answers to end the ancient zombie curse before it leads to a full on Zombie Apocalypse.
Before it is over, Jonah, Judas & JJ teach us about Zombie Bondage, Zombie Dental Hygiene & The Wonders of Orgasms and Chocolate, all while surviving being the target of an ever growing number of newly awakened undead.
Aided by JJ’s mysterious dog, the brother’s manage to get the amulet, but not before Jonah is marked for death by the Pakatini’s High Priest. It is going to take more than their really big gun, that they affectionately refer to as DeeDee, to get them out of this one.
Filled with nods to zombie pop culture, this book will keep you entertained and leave you smiling.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This book started with the idea of a zombie omelet, at the time, I had nothing more than that. I started writing the opening scene where Burt, an exterminator, had been called to the home of Larry Pembleton and had to tell him that he couldn’t help him because Larry didn’t have a rodent problem, he had a zombie infestation. The story unfolded from there. Exactly who would help him if it wasn’t Burt?
The Zee Brothers came next and the comedic tone of the story started to build. They met JJ and her crazy dog and then the story really started to pick up steam.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The characters in this story appeared very clearly, almost as if they were saying hi, here I am. I didn’t have to spend a lot of time trying to figure them out, I just wrote and their personalities flowed. The brothers definitely have pieces of myself and others I know and JJ was born directly from my muse and love of my life. She’s smart, cute and spunky. One character, Mr. Hembrook, was born as a direct result of someone I met and didn’t like very much. They were egotistical to an extreme, everything they had or did was better than everyone else, so I decided to put them in the book and kill them. That is definitely one of the pleasures of being a writer, somethings you can’t do in real life you can do in your fiction!
This is an excerpt from the middle of the book, where our main characters have just escaped a zombie infested house and are trying to make their way back to their clients house where the rest of their ammo was left. Judas Zee who doesn’t have his driver’s license is trying to operate the brother’s beat-up Chevy pickup.
Jonah opened the passenger door and handed Xanadu to JJ as he fired two shots into approaching zombies. She climbed in and straddled the stick shift next to Judas.
“Well hi there pretty lady,” Judas said.
“Not now,” Jonah said as he squished in against JJ and slammed the passenger door shut.
“This definitely isn’t a three butt truck,” JJ said and laughed.
“Sorry, it definitely is not,” Jonah said.
“That’s okay,” she said smiling, “I kinda like being pressed between the two of you.”
The brother’s eyes opened wide and their mouths fell open, but before either of them could speak, the urgency of a zombie at the window broke through their shock.
Jonah reached between JJ’s legs and grabbed the shifter. She let out a little giggle. “Push in the clutch Judas and as soon as I put it in first, let it out and give her gas, the push the clutch in again. I’ll put it in second.”
“You got it Bro!”
Judas pushed in the clutch, Jonah put it in first and the truck lurched forward, smacking into a few zombies and then dying.
“Are we gonna make it?” JJ asked.
“Again!” shouted Jonah.
Judas cranked Sasha’s massive 350 engine back to life and sweating like a teenager taking his driver’s test, he listened to his brothers commands.
Judas pushed his left foot in.
Jonah shoved the shifter into first.
Judas pulled his left foot back.
Judas put his right foot forward, a little too far.
The truck roared forward, thudding into the bodies of the dead.
Judas pushed it in and Jonah rammed the shifter into second, which now rested directly against JJ’s crotch.
“Release and gas!”
Judas did as he was told and the truck bounced down the zombie filled road.
“And that,” Judas said, “is how we do the hokey-pokey!”
“Is that a magic 8 ball?” JJ asked.
“It is,” Jonah said, “Sorry about the close quarters. Sasha’s not really big enough for company.”
“No worries,” JJ said looking down at the ball as the shifter vibrated against her. Then she started giggling.
“What is it?” the brothers asked in unison.
“It says, ‘Without a doubt’ and it kinda tickles.”
“Oh, sorry,” Jonah reached over and grabbed the 8 ball. “Judas, ready?”
“Uh,” Judas swerved to avoid a zombie that stepped from the fog into the trucks path.
JJ put her hand on top of Jonah’s, “It’s okay. I kinda like it.”
There was a moment of awkward silence, then Judas spoke up. “Jonah, where we going?”
“We need to go back to Larry’s and get the extra ammo for DeeDee out of the box. We’re gonna need it.”
JJ started to laugh again. The brothers looked down, the 8 ball read, ‘It Is Certain’
