Smart, pretty, and athletically gifted, this University of Tennessee freshman should be enjoying college life and her entrance into adulthood. And for a moment she does…until the vampires show up.
Born with an unusual ‘twin teardrop’ birthmark on her neck, Txema (pronounced Chema) is one of only a handful of females in the world who bear this trait. It marks her as a vessel of eternal youth and beauty for an elite vampire society determined to protect her precious blood….But it also is the only thing standing in the way of a rogue ‘undead’ nation determined to destroy mankind and usurp the power their sexier brethren have held uncontested for centuries.
Caught in the middle of this war after all the other bearers of the birthmark are murdered, Txema must flee America and heads to France under the protection of five beautiful vampires who all have a vested interest in her survival. The race is on to save her blood, as well as her very life, to ensure the survival of Les Amantes de Vampire. Otherwise, Txema will be the last one…the vampires’ last lover.

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
Since I write in the general Paranormal Fiction category, I have freedom to explore all things supernatural, and can still cross over to Sci-Fi, Thrillers, and Action Adventure.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Don’t give up. If you’re meant to do this, the opportunities to shine will come. I’ve been writing for 16 years, and didn’t see strong success until two years ago. And, don’t ever get complacent–strive to get better and better at your craft.
An author fascinated by Gothic history and the supernatural, Aiden James presently has written fifteen books with many more to follow–including ten more slated for release by the end of 2013. He resides in Tennessee with his lovely wife, Fiona, and their two sons, Christopher and Tyler. An avid researcher of all things paranormal, Aiden still spends time investigating haunted locales throughout the Deep South.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
A good friend, J.R. Rain, challenged me to write a vampire story, almost three years ago. I wanted something completely unique while paying homage to the masterful works of Anne Rice. My heroine, Txema Ybarra, bears an unusual birthmark, and her bloodline is what separates an elite race of vampires from their Chupacbra cousins. The initial story sets the stage for an incredible adventure that spans three completed books, and a fourth one is on the way later this year.
