When Zahn recovers an extraordinary meteorite impacted into the silvery beach near his home, the course of his life is changed forever. Fearing that the observatory will confiscate the meteorite if it truly is what he suspects it to be, he hides it away for days, conflicted in what to do.
All the while, the mystery of his mother’s disappearance continues to plague him. After twelve long years, he is the last person on the islands who believes she may still be alive. Even though he has no evidence for it, he cannot shake the feeling that she has been plucked off of the planet itself.
And then, in the midst of unspeakable dreams, he is awoken by a strange tapping at his window. Someone has come a great distance and scaled the side of his home for one unyielding purpose: To reclaim what was lost.
With the help of a Confederation captain and his sentient starship, Zahn plunges deep into the Ocean of Space, encountering a remarkable pilot, stunning in both her talent and beauty, 5th-density creatures of light, and a realm called Timespace that transcends all understanding. Along the way, he learns that there may be more to his mother’s disappearance than anyone on his world could have ever imagined.

How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
One must continually stretch the imagination and reach new heights of vision, while at the same time articulating in a language that is at once accessible and elegant.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Write. A lot. And then read a lot. Regularly. Only then will you know instinctively where and when you can stretch and break the rules in a way that is unique to you, thereby creating something that has a shot of feeling truly fresh and new.
I was born in a place of blue skies — some of the bluest blue you’ve ever seen, with greens that kept their green, even into Autumn. I was young when I left, and now I find myself wandering, basking in the sum total of an uncounted number of small decisions and works of Providence.
Once, I told stories about my travels, relying on the kindness of strangers. Now, I told stories about galactic travel and the ancient mysteries of eternal truth.
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Over the course of human history, our most potent truths have always been expressed through mythology, but times have changed and we have come to realize that we are but a tiny speck in a vast galaxy. This book, the first novel in a series, is the first in a series designed to create a galactic myth that brings us a new understanding and appreciation of what it means to be a citizen of the galaxy—what it means for our origins, our lives, and our destiny.
