How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others? While not overly critical, I do try to give an objective view on the subjects I write about. For some reason among the hardcore Disney fans there is seemingly an attitude that Disney can do no wrong, which is a philosophy that I do not subscribe to. Disney does a lot of things better than anyone else on the planet, but if there is something that is mediocre or just plain disappointing I’m not afraid to call it out. What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers? My advice to aspiring writers would be two-fold. First, write what you know and have a passion for. If you are a really good writer you may be able to convincingly fake enthusiasm for a topic, but writing on that topic will be true drudgery. Secondly, don’t be scared off of a topic or genre because others have already written on it. You bring a unique perspective and set of experiences to the topic, thus a book you write on the topic should be different than any of book that is already out there. Author Bio: Catherine M.
