Once upon a time, there lived a sentimental soul.
She hid behind her pen name, Sapphire Rhymes.
She lurked in the shadows and admiration of men
Meanwhile disguising her pain in garments of black
she searched for what she thought she lacked…
But, why so often does she cry?
Why does mascara constantly
smudge and stain her eye?
Her golden Amber glow
disappeared behind her tears
& bruises that’d sometimes show….
Will her hardships ever end?
What happened to that sparkle
that lit up every time she grinned?
The Lyrical Journal of Sapphire Rhymes: Tear-drop Stained Confessions, the author’s debut collection of poems. Her lyrics describe times in her life when she was drowning in her tears with no rescue in sight. Her journey takes her through her highest and lowest moments. Yet, through it all she discovers, no matter how blue or bruised your soul is, there is still beauty within.
Created from journals throughout her life, she reflects on her memories of being beautiful but broken; scorned and confused; and sexy and in love. She describes her life as a menage trois of sexual fantasies (and realities), past lovers and inspirational moments.
Sapphire’s journey takes her to some high places and through some low moments. The ups and downs she experiences allow her to discover her inner strength and continue to push towards her purpose.
This book shares lyrical stories that are relatable to everyone. The author’s love, pain, anxiety, depression, and abuse are empowering and thought-provoking. Using her life as a blueprint, she provides lessons on how to use your hurt to heal.
“Life is not about who you were or are but who you are becoming. It’s about allowing your failures to fuel your future.”
This book is the prequel to Becoming a Beautiful Articulate Person: The Genesis of Transformation.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
According to recent statistics, one in five women and one in 71 men will be raped at some point in their lives. This alarming statistic made me realize that it is time to tell my story. If not for me, then for my legacy. It is my duty to share my story — the good, the sad, the happy and even my raunchy moments.
I am an open book.
"No more secrets, no more lies, no more skeletons lurking in dark closets. This is my story, told my way to help someone else understand that he or she is not alone."
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
"I feel blessed that I was born in the month of September…I am forever connected to the beauty of the sapphire (birthstone). Its beauty inspires me…
A Branch from Country Roots
…I'm a city girl with country roots,
I can be prim and proper
or down-right dirty in my cowgirl boots…
at first glance, I appear cute, innocent and shy…
….about that I cannot lie…
…if you make me mad
or tick me off
in a flash, I'll turn from good girl to gone bad!
