What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My interest in the various Philosphical and Psycological themes that are presented in the novel.
The concept and definition or even the reality of evil.
My interest in neuroscience and the concept of the moral brain.
The susceptibility of Memory to suggestion and change of perspective.: Memory is not fixed like a recording but flexible and susceptible to change and influence and alters over time. Suggestion, perception and point of view can effect our recall of memory and leave us with serious distorted memories of events.
The concept of altruism and the subordination of the few to the many.: The original concept of altruism whereby the individual is total subservient to the state or to society, is a theme in this story as it examines the concept of self-immoluation and sacrafice as a virtue, and the misguided belief that the rights of the individual (the few) should always be second to those of the society as a whole. (the many)
Self Acceptance and Free Will: The principle theme is the self discover of a past and the acceptance of that past in an effort for reconciliation and co-operation and ultimately redemption.
The concept of ‘Self’ in philosophy and neuroscience.: The concept of the ‘Self” existing in the present and the future as a singular entity or as a multiticity of ever changing entities that maintain a sense of continuity by deception.
