What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Choosing supportive Daily Habits that align with your goals is incredibly important and having worked with 1000's of clients, I wanted to develop a book that all people could access.
Supporting positive change in peoples lives is very important and writing The Habit Change was my way of contributing to the world.
Habits are the little actions we take every day, even without thinking about them, that make up our daily routines. Small habits can have a surprisingly large impact on your life. Their strength lies in the fact that they promote constant action in your subconscious, letting you break down a difficult task into more manageable segments and complete it over a length of time. For example, say you want to write a novel. Trying to write thousands of words each day would certainly be a formidable task. However, if you simply committed yourself to write a mere 200 words a day, a habit which fits more easily into your schedule, you would make progress on your book every day. The act of writing would become habitual over time, and with steady progress, you would finish your book much sooner than you once thought possible. Habits can be applied to every part of your life, including health and fitness, and making good use of them can yield amazing results.
Adopting healthy habits means leaving behind unhealthy ones. These bad habits likely started small with minimal impact on your physical fitness, but over time they grew to become serious problems. One white chocolate and blueberry muffin on occasions is not a big deal, but when that muffin turns into one every day, it becomes a bad habit that can prevent you from getting healthier. Weight gain can be a product of just a small amount of excess calories over a long period of time. However, just as small negative habits can cause health problems, small diet changes and increases in physical activity can keep you from gaining weight and counteract the effects of unhealthy behaviors. In either case, your health is not a product of single decisions but rather the sum of all of your habits over time. The solution that is most effective for weight loss then, is starting small and reversing the negative habits you have picked up over the years.
Small, constructive habits have more long-term benefits than attempting to change everything about your lifestyle all at once. Trying to make too great of a change in a short period is likely to lead to exhaustion and a loss of willpower, leaving you right back where you started. Instead, try introducing habits that are easy to complete and don't take up too much of your time. These easily manageable tasks let you make progress on your goals while also training your brain to practice healthy habits each day. Once you are comfortable with the initial habits, you can slowly build upon them. You will find the success you are looking for without the concern of not being able to keep up because you overloaded yourself too early. Once you adopt good habits, improving your health becomes as easy as flipping 'The Habit Switch'.
