What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was fortunate to find my passion in life at an early age. I spent 35 years selling real estate as an agent, broker/owner, and investor. Medical issues caused me to reluctantly close down my real estate practice.
That is what initially inspired me to write this book.
Around this same time, I became interested in reading books and articles about being frugal with my money. Including these concepts inspired me to write The Frugal Home Seller.
Chapter three: Advertising – Get a bigger bang for your buck.
You need to get the best possible return for your advertising dollar. By using compelling headlines and writing effective ads, you will increase the response rate for the same advertising dollar. This gives you a better return on your investment (ROI). Increasing your ROI is a new frugal living concept for selling a home. That is being a wise steward of your money.
By the way, before we go any further, what’s the purpose of running an ad? To make the phone ring; that’s it. You can’t sell a house over the phone. If the ad makes the phone ring, get texts, or inquiries in your inbox, then it did its job.
For marketing purposes, you need to understand buyers are only concerned about themselves. To help you remember this concept, keep radio station WIIFM in mind. Radio station WIIFM stands for what’s in it for me? All buyers want to know is what’s in it for me? You’ll be able to do that by outlining the benefits of buying your home. More on this in a moment.
Your ad should consist of the headline, body, and a close for action. The key component of your ad is the headline. The headline must be compelling. The headline must pull them in. The headline must make them want to know more.
The headline is 80% of your ad. Your headline must make your ad stand out from the crowd. Spend time working on your headline. The body of your ad is where you present the features and benefits of your home. The closing is a call for action where you ask them to do something.
