What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I have always enjoyed writing since childhood and am a big fan of the Supernatural and Horror genres. I have been reading a lot of books lately and had the thought that although I enjoyed the work of other authors I would like to write stories myself and inspire others.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My characters are from my own imagination and often loosely based on people I have come across in my life. I am careful to craft them in a way in which they come across as realistic and having a real and authentic voice.

The Elevator
Michael
Chapter 1
Michael stands at the door. He’s not sure why he’s here. He’s not sure of anything really, only that he feels compelled. Funny word that is compelled, it doesn’t quite describe the way he feels drawn is maybe a better word, to open the door, and step inside, the elevator.
Why is he so fascinated, so desperate to enter this simple device a cage or platform used for hoisting people or things made of a belt or conveyor chain for raising or lowering. This elevator is Victorian, maybe this is why. He has always loved old things. An old soul.
It stands imposing all metal and gold frames, intimidating, regal powerful yet irresistible the promise it will take him somewhere. He presses the button, there is just a single button, strange, where will it take him, down or up. There are no floor number, but he is eager…. he wants to go.
There is a loud squeak and crank as the elevator shifts down, further and further decelerating fast. He holds to the sides of the walls but the fast deceleration lifts him off his feet and Michael loses his balance he falls, his nails scrape the floor as he clings red raw his bloody fingernail's snap like twigs, there is a pop as his head hits the floor, just before he loses consciousness a single thought: ‘Why, why did I enter?’.
