What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
It started out as a short story in an email that I wrote every day where I worked, I thought, what a great story, and it went from there. So I began taking the little snippets that I had written and began fleshing them out a little bit more each day. As I worked on it, it became more of a labor of love. I think the biggest inspiration was that since I was in the third grade I always wanted to be a writer. I had completed some short storied in the past, but the more I worked on this one, the more fun I had, and the better it got.To explain a little further, I worked in a prison, and every morning it was my duty to put out an email everyday to ask what staff would like to order lunch. Most of time I would add little jokes, or just try to brighten peoples day by putting writing silly stuff. One morning I decided to write a small story with a cliffhanger ending. Well I received a huge response to keep it going, so over the next two weeks it turned into a sort of a ten chapter serial.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Three of the main characters in this book were inspired by my three children. There are two other characters that were inspired by people I worked with, mostly because they asked to be in the short story I was putting in the staff email everyday. So I used their personalities as reference and it inspired me to create their character a little better.
Centuries ago, the black forest was a dark but magical place that was home to many ancient beings who had great power. They used their powers for good to help others who struggled. These beings were enchanted fairies and dwarfs, elders of another race. Their humbleness was legendary and their kindness bountiful. But there was a darkness that spread over the land causing the wondrous people of the forest to flee for their lives. An evil came in the shape of a dark and foreboding shadow, a great demon that wanted to rule the land and the people that lived there. His name was Hellmervick. He brought death and destruction to the Black Forest. He wanted to rule the castle of Lavodka that lay to the south of the black forest and keep the enchanted people in captivity.
