After a series of relationships including one that breaks his heart and crushes his spirit, the twenty-year-old, Liam Roberts, is introduced to a sexy young woman from a wealthy family. Still recovering from the sting of past relationships, he is afraid to let her get too close to him. Liam questions everything about his life and wonders if he is on the right path or if God has other plans for him. A romantic young man, Liam hopes that he won’t have to search forever to find his soul mate.
The flirty and affectionate young woman is virtually everything Liam ever dreamed about and as spring turns to summer, she weaves her way into his life and his heart. But then an unexpected letter arrives in the mail and Liam’s summer takes a turn he never imagined.
A question remains, will one letter bring two people together or force them to say goodbye – forever?

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
“Summer Letters” was inspired by some real life events, including the way that my wife and I met – hand written letters. Years before the internet and email were common, our long-distance relationship grew from a simple “pen pal” relationship. People that heard of our fairytale-like love story have long said that it would make for a great book. So, building around some of these real-life situations, I formed the rest of the story to be one that would entertain readers from almost every generation.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
A couple of the characters have some similarities to those developed from the real life situations, whereas others are completely fictional and were difficult to form. One of the main characters is an eighteen year old female. Difficult to describe some of the thoughts and emotions of a girl that age, I did a lot of research, used my imagination and then used some suggestions from my sister. Other characters were fun and easy. Writing the sub-stories about the siblings of the two main characters was fun because each of them have unique personality traits.
