Sounds Fishy is a story that follows three members of earth’s Space patrol as they go on missions and get into trouble in the universe. Sounds like a typical space book, but the twist is that the Space Patrol is made up of fish! and a whale. It’s a quirky and whimsical take on a space book.
Targeted Age Group:: Ages 3-9
What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My inspiration for the book was essentially just kicking around ideas, one thing rolling into another. However, for the characters themselves, I drew direct inspiration from actual space men and women. The leader of the Space Patrol is a leader called Fuzzy Baldwin. This name was derived from the famed American astronaut Buzz Aldrin. Cally Wide from Sally Ride and Journey Grey Area is a derivation of Yuri Gagarin, the first man to complete a space walk.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I came up with these characters simply by butchering the names of already known astronauts and cosmonauts. I tried to have fun with it and it's let us here.
