Sometimes we get so wrapped up in our lives we lose focus of what’s really important. We think the material things we have will make us safe. We watch atrocities happen to other people and silently thank a higher power they didn’t happen to us. Then one day we realize all the things we put our faith in were not really worthy of our time after all. Bodhi is someone who realizes what is truly important in this world. He would trade all that he has to find the answer to his wife’s disappearance. Mystery surrounds intrigue as Bodhi searches for the truth about his wife and the life he thought he once knew. What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The short answer would be my wife. I have spent a lifetime creating stories to share with other people. She convinced me to start writing them down. For the longest time I didn’t think I could ever write a full story, but her belief in me paid off. I completed a novel and hope to create more.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I didn’t come up with my characters as much as I discovered them through writing. Writing each of the characters was as much a surprise to me as I hope they are to the reader. Each day as I sat down to write I would think of the scene or person in the scene and watch as they took shape. I watched as they dictated to me how the scene would work. It was quite fascinating. I may think a person would do one thing, but they did another because that is what the story dictated. For instance, there is one scene in Something Wild where a person gets into the main characters car. Until I wrote that scene I did not know who was getting into the car. But when I got to the scene and wrote the door opening then I knew. I know I sound crazy!
About the Author:
“At an early age I immersed myself into writing fan fiction. Okay, let’s call it what it was, I was writing inquiry letters to the Rebel Alliance. Nothing ever came from those letters. I think it’s because I was in a different galaxy. So I moved on to middle school where I tried selling love poems for a dollar. My dates were always excited to receive a poem but hated coughing up a dollar for them. High school found me faced with the real possibility I’d have to find a job after graduation. Since I hated school so much I decided to become a teacher. Not the wisest of decisions. My teaching days were few so I moved on. Life has been full of adventures and some misadventures and in the back of my mind there has always been writing. I’m looking forward to the characters and stories I have inside me. Maybe if I get them all out I’ll finally be able to lose some weight!”
