Like falling in love in real life, where you have to be in constant contact, communication and serial dates with your love interest, falling in love with soccer is like that. This book is dedicated to those falling in love with soccer after the World Cup 2014, or those who could not be bothered to gain knowledge enough to understand the game during the recent soccer World Cup. There are simple basic soccer rules, and especially, a “How To?” revelation on falling in love with, develop interest in and understand soccer so naturally you will enjoy it through the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and will be the ‘professional’ spectator in Russia 2018 and subsequent World Cup tournaments. It is an improvement from the ‘couch guide’ version of this book, and has retained the narrative nature of the basic guiding rules of soccer to make it simple but engaging.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
Many people famously call soccer boring, but that just masks a deep-seated lack of knowledge for the game rules. People try to understand the game of soccer during the World Cup tournament, which is impossible. They find it confusing and instead of educating themselves about the sport, they succumb to a diagnosis from a position of ignorance. The fact that people actually watch soccer during the World Cup means they have an appreciation of the sport. Now, even if you like Basketball, Hockey, American Football or any other sport better, having a basic understanding of other sports, and indeed soccer – is good.
Many people around the world appreciate the rules in sporting disciplines they do not care about. It’s the global village. For companies and business executives, understanding the sport can make good business sense…knowing which team to partner with and maximize brand visibility during the World Cup and after.
Soccer 101: Falling In Love With Soccer After The World Cup 2014 explains the basic rules of soccer, and ways of cultivating, or maintaining a passive but knowledgeable interest in the sport, by following a league team, till the next World Cup in Russia 2018, Qatar 2022 and USA 2026!! After all, what harm can knowing do?
About the Author:
Bambino Cooper fell in love with soccer in 1991 as a 3rd grade child in school and has been playing it since, making the team in his age group in school every year, through High School and University. Graduating with a university major in Banking, he has worked in a couple of African countries and has maintained interest in and involvement with the game. Fairly traveled and always well read and researched about world business, sports and culture, he has often experienced nations totally spellbound with soccer, and some totally indifferent.Culture plays a pivotal role in one’s choice of sports, but this need not be in this global village. Even if one does not necessarily play soccer, its global reach is undeniable, and the global business opportunities in it are unrivaled. My maiden work narrating the basic rules of soccer is meant for people who want to have a basic but strong foundational knowledge about soccer, so that they can keep falling in love with the game not only during the World Cup tournaments, but mainly after. From falling in love with soccer as a child, Bambino Cooper outlines his over two decades intimate knowledge and understanding of the game of football / soccer in a simple but engaging manner.
