What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This book was inspired by all the young riders I have had the opportunity to ride with. And as a rider as a child, this a part of how I felt towards my ponies as a child and I thought that young children would relate to the love and bond that a child has with their horses and ponies.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The main character in my book is a young girl named Sierra. I wanted the character to be sweet and have a love for animals and the outdoors. I was riding my horse once day and this name came to mind as a possible name for my character and I started writing the story. I am very happy with my illustrator Marian Gorin and her bringing this story to life with her beautiful illustrations.
