What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I love the concept of shifters and wanted to develop different clans based on species. I also wanted to show a teenage relationship that had respect and true love, while dealing with outside forces that attempt to break apart a relationship. The book also deals with other issues that high school students deal with especially peer interaction.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I wanted to show a teenage girl who was not driven by drama, but had to deal with the way friends could be hurtful and intrusive at times.
“Jessica’s party on Friday? Let’s go together,” Daniel said, more like a statement then a question.
“Oh, I’m sorry Daniel. I promised Jess I would help her set up. I will see you there. Ok?”
“Remy why won’t you just give us a chance to be more than just friends? Admit it; we are perfect for each other.” Daniel seemed to be getting angry. He kept moving closer and closer to Remy, even as she was obviously trying to put space between them. When he tried to put his arm away around her and pull her close, she ducked away and placed herself on the other side of the stair rail.
“Daniel, I’m sorry, I consider you a good friend and all, but that’s it. I have a lot on my plate anyway and don’t have time for a serious relationship” When they reached the top of the stairs Daniel grabbed Remy’s arm and tried to pull her next to her. She wrenched her arm free and moved out of his grasp.
“That’s just an excuse,” Daniel said, clearly getting angry now. “Why are you such a tease? You know I’m the only one who would treat you well. No one else would ever treat you as well as I would.”
