Society has completely broken down and it’s every man, or in this case, woman, for themselves.
Cristal is no natural warrior but she must fight to stay human or worse, die at the hands of the rotting corpses that terrorize the streets. These reanimated corpses, or re-an’s, as Cristal has nicknamed them, will tear apart any living creature it encounters from limb to limb and so far, there has been little in the way of destroying them. Her quest to see another day can’t be done alone and with the help of Cain, Jax, and Luther, headstrong and fierce strangers now turned into a dysfunctional family, she might avoid being eaten alive.
Tensions are high however, and the stress of an apocalyptic world is sitting heavy on all of their shoulders. Will the re-an’s take them out one by one or will Cristal and her crew kill each other before finding a way out of this nightmare?
Reanimated: Survival is a story of redemption, the strength of true friendship, and encountering real monsters while controlling the ones that live within us.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
My father passed away and everything leading up to his death began the process of grieving for me. Writing this novella, about a strong female lead who loses her father and herself, but during an apocalypse is forced to face her own monsters, was my grief put into a fictional tale. This first book in the Reanimated series helped walk me through the pain I felt at losing one of the brightest stars in my life.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
The main character is definitely based on me and my own fears and pain. The other characters were based on the different types of people I needed in my life after my dad passed away. People I would have loved to get to know.
The rain picked up and the heavy winds blew through an entrance now void of a door, leaving us with a feeling as if we were naked. We were four sitting ducks in a room with nothing to protect us from the outside world.
At night we were ready for the dark, we expected it. But we were still supposed to have hours of daylight and a dark, brooding storm meant if the devil himself stood outside this entrance, he would be on top of us within the next second.
The noise of all that pummeling water sounded as violent as the ocean. It forced us to focus on our hearing because the dragging of rotting limbs and a guttural moan that signaled an undying hunger for fresh flesh and entrails would not easily be overheard in a storm as intense as this one.
