What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was looking to take a small break from writing chapter style books and thought I would write a picture book for a bit younger audience. Since we have three cat’s at our house along with a daughter who would tell me stories of kids at school who didn’t want to play with certain other children, I combined the idea of peer pressure with the character of our cat Daisy.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
As I mentioned above, the character of the cat was inspired by our very own cat Daisy. Like my Fern Valley series, my characters just seem to end up as farm animals. Probably because I love visiting my friend’s farm so much when I was growing up.
