I have a penchant for self help genre.I have been reading books for years,finally I wanted to give something back.
Forming a habit can seem like a daunting task and in all likelihood; you’re going to fail if you follow the traditional route. Eighty-eight percent of New Year’s Resolutions fail because there is simply a vague idea of a goal and no insight into what you’ll have to do on a daily basis to reach that goal. An example might be, I am going to lose fifty pounds. There isn’t a deadline, there isn’t a list of habits that one would have to perform on a daily basis, and there isn’t a tangible reward.
You have to look at a habit as if it’s a mini-goal, and under that mini-goal is even smaller goals called mini-habits. A mini-habit is an action you perform every day in order to get yourself into the mindset of performing a habit on a daily basis. For example, the one push-up theory is a mini-habit.
The theory is that if you do just one push-up every day, no more and no less, you are gearing yourself up for success because you have formed a habit geared toward exercise. After you completed that habit for a hundred days, then you can move on to adding nine more push-ups to make ten. You’ll be surprised by how easy it will be to do ten push-ups every day after just one hundred days of doing one push-up!
