How is Writing In Your Genre Different from Others?
In a fantasy setting there is no limit to what I am able to dream up. I do have to set my own rules, but that is part of the fun.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Plan first. Take your time to get it into notepads. Once you are confident that you have the characters, story and world in place, start writing. Nothing is set in stone, but with a firm grounding you can go at full speed. Once you have started, the only rule is that every day you read the last couple of pages you wrote.
It is a simple rule and allows you the idea that there is no pressure. What I find is that when I have read the last couple of pages, I can’t help writing some more. As long as I know that I don’t have to, it becomes easier to keep going. You are already at your machine, ready to go, so it is easy to add a bit or a lot.
Sometimes there is pressure to write. Just read the last couple of pages. If it is not easy to keep going, just put one word after the next. Inspiration will come soon. At the least you will want to edit those words the next day when you read the last couple of pages.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I wanted to read a book that was a fantasy work, yet had real characters with real problems. I wanted it to be fast paced and rich in adventure, people and mood, gritty and earthy. I had trouble finding such a book and so I wrote it.
