What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was keen on creating a storybook that could truly bring joy to little ones and help them learn something about themselves.
I came up with the idea of the magical apple tree when I was sitting under my favorite tree and wished it could share its wisdom with others. I saw a few kids playing and imagined what would happen if one of them encountered my tree.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
Little Tim is a shy boy who thinks he's too small to play with all the other kids. The character is a combination of my childhood memories along with my imagination. I wanted Little Tim to be a sweet and loveable boy who is easy to relate to.
It was a cheerful summer day,
and everyone played in the sun.
Everyone but Little Tim!
He did not join in the fun.
He watched them from afar,
and sadly felt too small:
too small to run as fast,
too small to catch a ball.
Instead, he left his friends
and decided on that day,
“I will walk and wait until
I’m big and strong to play!”
