Té Russ has been a fan of romance novels since she snuck and read her first one, Scarlett Woman by Gwynne Forster, as a teenager. She’s loved writing even longer. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s taking care of her wonder husband and three kids in Texas.
What inspires you to write?
Everything around me inspires me! Movies, music, my own life, books I read.
Tell us about your writing process.
I keep a journal or take notes on my phone and whenever ideas come to me, I write them down. Once I figure out the direction I want to go I begin writing. Sometimes it flows well, other times I get stuck. When I get stuck, I take a break and brainstorm, let my thoughts stew until I’m inspired to write again.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I can’t really say that I’ve talked to them. I suppose I listen for certain emotions or feelings and interactions between other characters.
What advice would you give other writers?
I would tell them to just keep writing. If you feel the urge to write, stop what you’re doing and write. You never know when an idea or dream or random thought may manifest into something awesome!
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I decided to self-publish because of the ease of it. I completed a book and I wanted to share it with people as soon as possible.
I would tell new authors to do what the feel is best for them.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think with so many doors opening, the possibilities are endless!
What genres do you write?
What formats are your books in?
Both eBook and Print
