Author Bio:
Sunie Levin, author of four books and lecturer is a graduate of the University of Missouri and holds degrees in Education and Psychology. She founded the Midwest Reading & Dyslexia Clinic in Kansas City for children and adults with learning problems. A popular lecturer, Levin taught University classes and has conducted workshops and seminars throughout the country and on shipboard, After losing many old friends and moving to a new community, she wrote the book ” Make New friends Live Longer.” The lively guidebook gives creative advice for seniors and boomers how to develop new friendships. She has written syndicated columns for the Kansas City Star, New York Times, Child Magazine, Senior Wire Service, New Choice Magazine, Mature Lifestyles and has appeared on many regional T.V. and radio including the Home Show and Sun Radio network.
Her books include “You and Your Grandchildren:Special Ways To Keep In Touch”, “Mingled Roots For Grandparents of Interfaith Grandchildren,” “Make New Friends Live Longer” and “Ready or Not How To Choose Your Best Retirement Community” She has three daughters eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
What inspires you to write?
When I find a niche that needs more research or there are few books and articles available I like to fill the gap. I have been a speaker on cruise ships so I write about some of my experiences.
Tell us about your writing process
I get ideas and write down a few words and develop the article or book on my computer.
What advice would you give other writers?
If you have trouble getting your ideas on paper try dictating them first to a digital recorder.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
My first two books were published by major publishers. Today’s marketplace is different so I have self-published the last two books.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I feel in another few years most books will be digital.
