What inspires you to write?
I'm inspired by the idea of making learning fun and creating moments that bring people together. Whether it’s a laugh during a family games book we create or a small “Aha!” from a helpful habits book from us, I love sparking positive change through books.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
I enjoy reading James Clear, Naval Ravikant, Tim Ferriss, and Alex Hormozi for their practical wisdom. I also enjoy Russell Brunson when it comes to marketing and building business-focused books.
Tell us about your writing process.
I’m a mix of both outliner and spontaneous writer. I start with a clear structure using MS Word, then allow space for new ideas to pop up while writing. I don’t use character sketches since I mainly write nonfiction and activity books, but I do organize my content clearly before diving in.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I don’t write fiction (yet!), but I do think a lot about my readers. How they'll react, laugh, or feel while using my books. In a way, they’re the characters I imagine throughout the process.
What advice would you give other writers?
Start before you feel ready. Don’t wait for perfection. Focus on helping the reader, stay consistent and everything else will follow. Treat your book like a product. Marketing matters just as much as the writing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I chose self-publishing through Amazon KDP because it gives full creative control, faster time to market, and global reach. It’s perfect for testing new ideas and building a brand from scratch. I recommend new authors explore self-publishing to learn the ropes before considering traditional routes.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Publishing is becoming more democratized. Authors can now connect directly with readers, build email lists, and launch books like products. I believe books will become more interactive, personalized, and niche-driven and that’s great news for indie authors like us.
