What inspires you to write?
There’s nothing else I could see myself doing.
Tell us about your writing process.
I type up an outline of what I want to cover in each chapter. I typically write several nights per week until the book is complete.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Each character is typically inspired by real-life people. I strive to show each character grow in their own way.
What advice would you give other writers?
Never give up.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I had a literary agent for several year who was unsuccessful in the publication process, so I decided to release my novels through Amazon’s Kindle store last year. After learning how to market them, they were both top 100 bestsellers in several different fiction categories. It was incredible.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think indie ebook publishing is the wave of the future, and I’m happy that writers now have more control over their own publication and marketing process that we did years ago.
