What inspires you to write?
I’m inspired by life, songs, nature… Really anything can be an inspiration to me. I write sometimes from personal experiences, or I may be inspired to write about someone else’s story. It just has to be something that moves me, something that I feel strongly about.
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process usually starts with an idea or concept. Once I know the subject matter of what I’m writing about. From there, I may start to think about the different paragraphs or subheadings I am going to include. I also may write down ideas that come in my head. It usually starts out as a drift and than I continue to edit my work until it is ready.
What advice would you give other writers?
You have to believe in yourself; work hard and don’t give up on your dreams. I also think a writer should always strive for excellence in whatever they do.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
A writing friend whose work I respected recommended a publishing company to me. At the time, I wasn’t planning on publishing anything. So, I definitely took it as a sign that I should start compiling a manuscript. Once I was finished my manuscript I submitted my work. I now, very much like the idea of self-publishing.
