What inspires you to write?
The desire to put stories into the world that are not currently out there, in an effort to expose people to different viewpoints.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Dostoevsky, Hesse, Mann, Capote, Camus, and Gogol
Tell us about your writing process.
My writing process consists of several months of research and a detailed synopsis and outline before I start writing a novel and then several months of beta-testing and revision after I've completed the first draft. I love writing to music!
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I both listen to and talk to my characters. They are often smarter than I am, so sometimes it is hard to keep up with them 🙂
What advice would you give other writers?
Read, read, read, and read.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I went with a very reputable small publisher who was recommended by author friends of mine.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think it is heading in the direction of either self-publishing or publishing with small presses.
What genres do you write?: thrillers and literary fiction
What formats are your books in?: Both eBook and Print
