What inspires you to write?
I love sci-fi and romance. Writing can offer an escape into a world which only exists in imagination. You can do anything, be anything. I write in hopes of offering an escape. A chance to live a fantasy and makes you wonder.
Tell us about your writing process.
I do very little of writing out an outline. I use the program Scrivener and use the storyboard there to make sure I stay on task.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters are a part of me. I often say they write the story, I merely hold the pen. I listen to their guidance. It is their story, after all. 🙂
What advice would you give other writers?
Write every day. Blog. Open yourself up and leave yourself exposed on the pages.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
When I started writing my first book, Mirror Image, I knew very little about the fundamentals of writing a book. I just wrote. I knew I was a little rough and wanted help in polishing up my skills. That’s why I searched for a publisher. My publisher and editor really took me under their wing and taught me so much about good and bad writing habits and how to improve my skills. I’ve always been a fantastic storyteller but needed some molding as far as structure. Also having a support system in terms of marketing and promoting has taken a huge weight off my shoulders.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
As long as there are readers searching for their next story and writers eager to share, the future is bright.
