What inspires you to write?
I wrote my book for a class in college and decided to have it published a few years later.
Tell us about your writing process.
I start off by writing my story on a paper tablet. I write just the words of the story since it is just a picture book. Once I get an illustrator, I will write my ideas of how I image the pictures to look.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I really don’t list to or talk to my characters. I allow my main character, Detective Stephy Wephy to create the story by having her find clues to solve the mysteries.
What advice would you give other writers?
Keep writing and use social media. Social media helps get your book noticed and helps find an audience for your book.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I published through a company that offered ebook format. That way, when I had it published, I can offer it free for a limited time for promotion purposes.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think it will become more of ebook because it is easier for authors to get their books published. There are so many companies that offer publishing for ebook format. But I think there will always be paper. It’s like the music industry. It is going digital but there is nothing better than listening to a song on a record.
What genres do you write?
Children Picture Book
