I have enjoyed art since childhoo. I am from the beautiful Hocking Hill’s region, and have worked in the blue-collar industry most of my life. I love writing and have a special interest in historical Southeast Ohio. In addition, I enjoy oil and acrylic painting, traveling and sewing.
When not exercising my hobbies or working outside my home, I spend time with relatives, my dogs Jasmine and Scooter, and volunteer my time within the community. I am a member of the Hocking Hill’s Arts and Craftsmen Association, The Hocking County Historical Society and Museum, and the Hocking Hills Regional Welcome Center. I am a mother of three and grandmother of eight. I believe in family values and following your dreams

What inspires you to write?
Something I see or hear or read about triggers a story that begins to form in my head.
Tell us about your writing process.
I write what I am interested in, whether that be a homicide, or fantasy creature. I spend hours on the computer and sometimes become very frustrated and struggle through a story. Other times, the story flows. I have no set process. I just think of interesting topics to write about and hope others enjoy them.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Everything takes place in my head. I put myself in the characters shoes. I say, “what would this person say or do in this situation?” Then I know what to write whether that be a dangerous scenario, or an intimate scene.
What advice would you give other writers?
Follow your dreams and never give up.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I found Melange Books over the Internet
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I would suggest looking for a publisher before self-publishing, which is a lot of work for the author. A publisher does the footwork and elbow grease for the author. Each author is different, and if you are comfortable with self publishing, because it certainly has a lot of pluses about it, then go for it.
I think there will always be artists, whether that be writiers, paintiers, or dancers, which means there will always be books needing published. It is like fine wine, and women, it gets better with time.
