What inspires you to write?
Motherhood is hard work. We all need a support system to get through the “most rewarding, but hardest job you will ever have.” My inspiration is to help mothers and families live better, be more intentional, get out of debt and be content and happy with your life. We all have a legacy and it would be great if we had fewer regrets!
Tell us about your writing process.
I’ve always loved to write. I start with an outline and write what comes to mine. I do not edit during my writing time. I just use a standard notebook. Yes, the ones that we used before computers. I am more creative with a piece of paper in front of me. I always outline in a notebook. Then I write the outlined notes on Libre (Linux version of Word). Once I have the outline completely written; I go back and fill in the copy.
What advice would you give other writers?
Don’t give up before you start. Everyone has a unique voice. We all get better the more we practice. If you have others around you writing as well, make sure you build each other up!
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I read a lot of books on publishing through kindle. I decided to go exclusively through them on this book. I had looked at e-junkie and decided to get my name out further, it would be better to have my name on Amazon -the biggest name in digital books.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I already have my second book idea. I will be working on promoting this book first. I have to take each day one step at a time. I have way too much to do every single day. That is the “fun” of working online. Everyday I am trying to practice what I preach. I want to see my kids’ milestones and still have a career. Some days I am more mom and other days I am more worker.
Hopefully I will have another book published in Q1 of 2014..
