What inspires you to write?
My inspiration to write is creating relative characters for readers who seek inner discovery. More specifically, the underdogs who suffer from depression, mistreatment, and abuse from their peers, work, etc. I write to explore the inner workings of characters with oppressed spirits who eventually discover their strength from within. I also touch on characters recovering from traumatic experiences, and even those who develop anger or resentment in their hearts, how they've effected others, and how they can turn things around with inner work, acceptance, and forgiveness.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
Jeff Wheeler for his wisdom.
Jonathan Renshaw because of my favorite book Dawn of Wonder.
Tell us about your writing process.
Well, first I go into prayer and ask the Holy Spirit for some help with what's being written. I then, do some meditation to clear my mind of any stressful or negative thoughts so that they do not influence my characters. Once I get started, I turn on my music, do a quick recap of what was last written, and then I get started!
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen to my characters. I don't care to force anything about them and allow the writing to flow as they develop, because forcing anything could make the character unpredictable in a distasteful way. I am one to plot a characters development, but I have nothing against changing my plans for them if the plot needs it.
What advice would you give other writers?
Write because you enjoy it. Not because of a paycheck. Let that come to you, but the moment you change your reason from enjoyment to money, that's when it becomes a job.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I wanted full control over the publishing process, but I'm not against traditional.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think that books will eventually take over the world. Reading is still quite popular. I just hope that most of them aren't written by AI.
What genres do you write?: Fantasy, dystopian, science fiction
What formats are your books in?: eBook, Print, Audiobook
