What inspires you to write?
When I write, I feel a sense of poetic justice run through my finger tips. I am inspired by the world’s cry for hope. I am inspired by the homeless men and women on the streets, holding their hands out for money because what they are really looking for are words of encouragement to quench their thirst for bliss, peace, and tranquility. Knowing that I can leave a piece of writer’s nourishment in the heart of people, drives me to write.
Tell us about your writing process.
I write with a goal in mind… What do I want my reader to know and why. I like quotes, philosophies and studying the great wisdom of the past and present. I like asking deep questions to my readers. All in all, I write more logically with a goal in mind, surrounded by quotes. I ask, what can I teach the audience today. How can I inspire?
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
What advice would you give other writers?
If you are starting out. Read! Read books for information, fun, and clarification on life. Reading a book can save you 5 years of your life figuring out what you might not know, but through someone’s experiences and autobiography you can learn from their mistakes and reach your goal. Also, practice writing and double check your work.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I took a class on how to write an ebook. I have wanted to write for several years. Something inside said that now was the right time, so I decided to write and learn. Taking the first step is the toughest. Taking that leap of faith helped me. I am grateful I did.
