What inspires you to write?
A passion for reading which started at a very early age thanks to my father’s collection of Louis L’Amour westerns.
Tell us about your writing process.
I work best in the early morning and I begin with a rough outline. I work on the first draft and the outline at the same time which allows me to steer the story with a free hand. Ultimately, once the first draft is done, I attack the outline and rework the story for maximum punch. That’s when I begin the revision process. From there, the plot doesn’t change a whole lot.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I don’t really talk to them, I simply channel them.
What advice would you give other writers?
It’s a long haul. Bring plenty of clean underwear.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I’m a hybrid author meaning some of my books are with a publisher, and some are self-published. It all depends on the book.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think it’s a great time to be a reader.
