What inspires you to write?
I have been very fortunate to have spent over 40 years engaged in work that I enjoyed. Helping hospitals and healthcare organizations, as well as the people in them, improve their processes and reduce avoidable suffering for patients has been a rewarding experience. At this stage, I want to give something back, and that involves passing my knowledge along to the next generation.
Tell us about your writing process.
As a more technical writer, I generally outline. Starting with a general outline, I then delve deeper into each topic until I'm ready to write the connecting words and sentences that tie them together. The exception to this is the stories I tell, which illustrate various points. These tend to be more seat of the pants writing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
We decided to self-publish because of the control over the timeline. Self-publishing allows for more control, but it requires more effort to handle cover design, layout, marketing, and other tasks.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the future is bright. More people I know are writing books and with self-publishing, the publishing world has opened up to many more people.
What genres do you write?: Non-Fiction
What formats are your books in?: Print
