What inspires you to write?
I’m inspired by everyday events, the people I meet and the stories they tell. You’d be surprised how eager people are to share their naughty experiences! I’m also inspired by good music, sexy lyrics, and a driving beat. </p>
<p>A lot of my inspiration comes from the “bodice rippers” from the past–you know the ones! The books you hid from your parents under the mattress, the ones you whispered about between classes, and the ones that filled your daydreams.
Tell us about your writing process.
I am a pantser – one hundred percent. I love to hit the keyboard, never knowing what might happen next with my characters. In the beginning, I have a general idea of the major plot points and how I want the story to end. Then I just sit down at my laptop and let the words flow.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Each of my characters has a very distinct personality and voice. I try to “listen” to their desires and transfer those to print in the best way I can.
What advice would you give other writers?
Write, write, write. Talk to other writers, take classes on craft, learn everything you can about the business side of writing. And then sit down and write some more.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I love the control of self-publishing. I have the freedom to write whatever I want, whenever I want, in whatever way I choose. Self-publishing is tailor made for a control freak like me.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think book publishing has a fantastic future. New readers are born every day, and there is always a new generation to expose to the wonders of the written word.
