What inspires you to write?
Pretty much anything in life inspires us to write. movies, video games, dreams, books, a character from a story. Ordinary everyday people inspire us to write.
Tell us about your writing process.
We write in a mix of organic as well as planning. We do plan out who and where our characters are and where they MAY go, but we also like to let the story and characters lead us in the story telling as well.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
Yes, they are just as real as the people standing next to you.
What advice would you give other writers?
To keep your voice in your story. Editors are valuable and a must for every writer but if your editor is trying to change your romance to a mystery, find a different editor. Or trying to change your strong female character to someone who needs saving all the time. Find a different editor.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
This all started as a school project for her youngest son and business partner, Charles Siefken, which has grown into a desire to be published.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think it will continue to change but also grow and allow more people the opportunity to become published as well. It will teach the general public more about what ll goes into becoming published and definitely test your mettle of whether you want to stay in the publishing industry or not.
