What inspires you to write?
Helping other people is what inspires me to write. I have learned a lot in my own health and weight loss journey and it be such a shame to keep it to myself. I know firsthand how small changes can make a huge impact on your quality of life. It’s not about the food. It’s about having the energy and vitality to live your best life. It sounds cheesy but it’s true. Without health, all the money in the world means nothing.
Tell us about your writing process.
Sometimes I outline on a piece of paper but most of the time I just sit down and let the words spew out. The next day I look at it and wonder if what I wrote was any good. (thankfully it is!) I’m a wordy writer so I have a tendency to edit while I write. This is a bad habit that I’m trying to break.

What advice would you give other writers?
Spend at least 30 minutes to an hour writing every single day. Even if you sit there for half of it, it’s about getting into the routine of writing.
The 2nd piece of advice is to stop editing your book after the initial edits. You’ll never have a perfect book so put it away and start the next one.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I wanted to publish on Kindle because it’s the easiest and fastest way to get your book on front of a ton of people.
I love that I have complete control over everything. I can edit the book if needed, upload a new cover, edit the descriptio, change the price, and I control when the free promos happen. I love that! With print books, once it’s done nothing can be changed.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think a lot more people are going to publish their books because there are no entry barriers. Sure, there will be some below average books published to Kindle but the authors who have great books and were rejected 30 times by book publisher will be able to self-publish and find readers. This is such an exciting time.
