About Alex Book:
Alex Book is an Indian fiction writer who writes love fiction in the English language. He writes short love fiction and romance novels. His only book is “My School-Day Crush,” which is available on Amazon and Google Play as an ebook.
What inspires you to write?
Since childhood, I've been fascinated by short stories. Whenever I used to read short stories, I used to think that I too could write a story. I think you got my point. Books are the ones that inspire me to write.
What authors do you read when you aren’t writing?
It may seem weird, but it's true that I love reading suspense and thriller novels despite being a love fiction writer. I love reading suspense and thriller novels written by Ved Prakash Sharma.
Tell us about your writing process.
First of all, I set the starting and ending points of the story in my imagination. Then I write down key points of the story and, after that, rearrange them chapter-wise. Then I start writing the story from the beginning.
For Fiction Writers: Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I enjoy the characters I write in my fiction. To be clear, I interact with my characters. Sometime I play the main character.
What advice would you give other writers?
Read as much as you can. The more you read, the more you will learn to write. Read authors in the genre you want to write a book in. This will help you write your own books.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I always wanted to write a love fiction but couldn't find a good platform to publish my book because what I had written was a short story. One day, I decided to self-publish my short love story titled “My School-Day Crush” as an ebook and publish it in the Kindle store and on Google Play. Here I would like to say to the budding author that you must strive to write and explore better platforms to publish your books.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
Book publishing has become an easy task in the modern age, especially with the introduction of e-books. This is good for aspiring and budding writers. But as far as I think the print books give a unique experience. So, here I would like to wish all the writing community that we have a great roadway to go ahead. Wish you all a happy writing journey!
