Letβs talk interacting with authors IRL (in real life) or online. This is your opportunity to talk about your favorite author readings that you have attended. Or, you can feature your favorite author fan moment (i.e., an author sent you a tweet or commented on your blog). Maybe you even want to share how your interactions have changed since becoming a blogger or share your own tips that you have learned along the way when interacting with authors as a blogger.
I love interacting with authors or I wouldn’t have built out the BookGoodies Network π I have author Facebook groups, a forum and love love love talking to authors and meeting them in real life, in addition to online. My favorite author interaction IRL this year has been at the Tucson Festival of Books. I got to meet several authors that have been part of BookGoodies. We are planning a meetup of authors in June in Queen Creek AZ, I just have to set the date!
There are so many mediums that feature more than just words and enhance a story in a multitude of ways. Examples may include graphic novels and comics, audiobooks, or even multimedia novels. On this day, we will be talking about those books and formats that move beyond just the words and use other ways to experience a story. Which books stand out to you in these different formats?
I love audiobooks. We recently did a podcast about them. When my children were young we could all listen to the books at the same time, that is how we “read” the entire Harry Potter series. Now I love it because I am not able to read as much as I want to and having an audiobook gives me an alternative. I have several on my TBLT (To Be Listened To) list. Hopefully I can listen to them in the next couple of weeks.
I am interested in the future of multimedia novels, I have several that have playlists that are recommended to listen to as you read and would like to see that be incorporated somehow as an automatic option rather than having to download the songs and queue them up myself. If you have a multimedia novel that you can recommend or that you have produced, let me know in the comments!
