Targeted Age Group:
I really want my readers to feel a connection with the characters I create. When a story idea pops into my head, I immediately begin to formulate the characters identities. Occasionally, as my characters develop, I sometimes find that I change the story to better suit their personality.
What Advice Would You Give Aspiring Writers?
Whatever you do, don’t ever give up. On days when I feel like waving the proverbial white flag, (and there are plenty of them!), I allow myself some “pity time” then move on. Being a self-published author is not easy, but there is plenty of support out there. Also, and I’m still learning this, don’t compare yourself to others. Everyone is unique, and there is always a niche of people out there who will love what you write.
I live in a small community in Northeast Pennsylvania where I grew up. Two of my children attend the same elementary school that I did, and one attends the same high school where my husband and I fell in love (we were high school sweethearts). My son plays on the same high school football team where my husband played and wears the same number (good old number 60). Besides, obviously my family, I love, love, love reading, writing and my daily dose of coffee.
My husband. We have been married for nineteen years, together for twenty six. We were very young high school sweethearts, and way back then at the time a friend of his (I didn’t know until much later), had a huge crush on me. So one day we had a conversation about lost love at a young age and getting a second chance years later as an adult, and voila, His Second Chance was born.
