How do you cope when your greatest wish is forbidden in your village?
Fifteen-year-old Kenda has always been sure of one thing – getting married young like the other girls in her village wasn’t what she wanted to do with her life. Instead, she had dreams of wealth and independence, dreams that earned her the disdain of her family.
So when Kenda is tricked into an engagement, she does what any fiercely independent teenager would do. She stages her great escape to the city, but that’s where things get way more complicated than she could imagine.
Kenda uncovers a decades-old curse that has been keeping her village hostage, and learns of her own paranormal powers in the process. In order to save her village and break the curse, she must master her powers. If she doesn’t, humanity will cease to exist.
Join Kenda on her journey in this Coming of Age fantasy novel.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This book was greatly influenced by my Korean language learning experience. When I first moved in South Korea, I found it really hard to learn the language and in the province where I first settled, only a few spoke English.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My characters were based on real people in Asia- specifically the Philippines where the setting of this book was mostly based on. However, there traits were combined with my own personalities.
