What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I have always been inspired not only by different versions of possible futures but also by deep dives into the human psychology and how people act/react to outside pressure. Human nature is the main drive behind my stories in general and this book in particular. I wanted to explore the actions but also thoughts and feelings of people of diverse backgrounds in adverse conditions — people who are forced to leave their comfort zone and thus outgrow their own limitations in their own way.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I usually ask myself what a person fears and what they want, how they perceive themselves and how others perceive them. Then, I take a look at the world in which my story takes place and ask myself how the character would interact with their environment. Looking into the head of a character and finding out how they got to be the people they are at the beginning of the story is half the journey, in my opinion.
