What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
As small hobby farmer caring for alpacas, goats, and chickens, I'm inspired by the joy, chaos, and humor the animals add to my life. This is the second book in the Adventures on Grandma's Farm series and includes make believe and real life experiences. Writing and illustrating these stories to share with children provides a healthy creative outlet for me, as well as an opportunity for children to learn about life on the farm.
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
I'm inspired by the animals on my farm. The stories are a mix of make believe and true life, and the character's names have not been changed.
If not for the work of the humble bee, we simply would not be. Their buzz and busy-ness helps grow food for all to eat. Bees zigzag and dance in patterns. Mapping routes to buds and blossoms far and wide in search of rich, sweet pollen.
