What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
I was inspired to write Foot in the Door by the difficulties of breaking into the tech industry. I taught myself to learn to code when I graduated college with an art degree and wasn't sure what to do next because I realized I didn't want to be a designer or an artist. My goal with my book is to help people who are in the position that I was back then, and have no idea what to expect from the tech industry. I was also inspired by other women in tech who use their voices to advocate the underrepresented folks in the industry who are silenced. I hope that I can give back to the tech community that has given so much to me.
