New sights, new friends, and new magic!
A heartwarming tale about unlikely friends, new lessons, and creative solutions inspires us to see the magic in our lives, our world, one another, and our own hearts. An inspiring read that encourages children to look beyond differences, to believe in themselves and one another, and to see the magic in their experience.
The tenacious fire dragon Flame and his fun-loving unicorn sidekick Sparkles are back for more adventure in a follow up to Flame And Sparkles: The Magic Within!
A mysterious water creature becomes a friend while Flame and Sparkles learn that rainbows are not the only kind of magic. Magic can show up in lots of different big and small ways, some that we do and some that just are and some that show up through the intention of our hearts!
Acclaim for Flame And Sparkles:
“Thank you, Isaac, for reminding us that what may appear different and strange may actually bring the magic that enhances our lives if we are open to try and trust. Flame and Sparkles have motivated me to search for my sparkle within! Beautiful story, beautiful message!” -Miss Mars, teacher
“Isaac’s stories hit on so many themes about being different and capable. It is so important that children learn to appreciate differences at a young age. Each of us has our own strengths and Isaac really highlights that message in a comfortable and easy to understand format. As a retired educator, I see Flame And Sparkles as a valuable classroom tool for teachers in Pre-School through elementary school grades. Powerful read! Out of the mouth of a child (Isaac) comes a much needed lesson for today’s world, a message well taught and simple to get.”
-Marrion Tutt, BSED
“WOW! This is what it is all about: helping children believe that we are all magic and can achieve anything!”

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
The series was inspired by my little sister. She often wants me to tell her stories, often needs encouragement, and really like unicorns. I like dragons, so I thought including both would be a fun touch! The new character in this book was inspired by a friend of mine, Josh McCartin, who helped me sort out my thoughts when I was confused about what to write. The location is just a place that I think is cool!
How Did You Come up With Your Characters?
My little sister Ciara insisted on and named the pink unicorn, Sparkles. I created Flame because I like dragons and I made him all of my favorite colors Flame is a lot like me because he wants to believe in goodness and possibility, but sometimes he is a little unsure or feels a little defeated. Sparkles is kind of like my mom, because she always helps him feel better about that.
Nessie splashed into the water and dove down deep to start swimming home.
Flame and Sparkles watched the end of her tail disappear beneath the water and looked at each other in doubt.
“How did she do that?” asked Flame. “She is very deep down.”
“Is it a new kind of magic?” asked Sparkles.
“Some kind of super magic I think,” said Flame.
“That’s not rainbows…” Sparkles thought aloud.
“Or sparkles…” chimed Flame.
It was different. It was strange. It was kind of scary, to be honest.
