The Book Excerpt:
I heard a loud roar coming down the street. I figured that was new business for Billy, and I was anxious to get on my way. I was about to ask for directions when the motorcycle pulled up. It was a massive hog with another massive man. He drove directly into the garage and mercifully shut off the engine after several satisfying revs. As he dismounted, I couldn’t help noticing that although he was a big man, he was lean everywhere on him, solid. But scary. His bald head was completely tattooed in blue puzzle pieces. What did he look like under the tattoos? I couldn’t tell. His hands were also solidly tattooed. They looked old, stretched, as though he’d gotten them as a teenager, or even as a boy. He looked at me and grinned. His eye teeth were pointy, as though they’d been filed to look that way. He was used to being stared at, comfortable in his own blue skin.
